RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das Recovers From COVID-19, Tests Negative Two Weeks After Contracting Infection

New Delhi, November 7: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das tested negative for coronavirus, two weeks after contracting the infection. The central bank chief posted an update on Twitter to announce that he has successfully recovered from the contagious disease. The 63-year-old said he would be resuming work from the coming week.
"I have tested COVID-19 negative. Will be back in office next week. Thank you everyone for your good wishes for my early recovery," Das posted on social media.

After the RBI chief was tested positive, his close aides and contacts were also asked to undergo the tests. Das was amongst the most senior officials in the government to have contracted the virus. Earlier, Union Ministers Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari and Shripad Naik had succeeded in recovering from the disease.
