New Delhi, August 2: Senior journalist Ravish Kumar has been awarded a prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award 2019, said to be Asia’s highest honour, "for harnessing journalism to give voice to the voiceless”. New Delhi Television Limited (NDTV) Journalist is among five recipients of Magsaysay award 2019.  Ravish Kumar Wins Ramon Magsaysay Award 2019, NDTV Journalist to Receive Honour in Manila on September 9.

Considered one of the most influential TV journalists, Ravish joined NDTV in 1996 and currently anchors "Prime Time". The Board of Trustees said that his show deals with real-life problems, and under-reported problems of the ordinary citizen.

Many netizens, including famous politicians, and took to twitter to congratulate Kumar and appreciated him for being the voice to the voiceless.

The Ramon Magsaysay Award is an annual award established to remember former Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay as an example of integrity in governance, pragmatic idealism and courageous service to the people.
