New Delhi, December 30: In the wake of mass protests across the country, 'Rangoli' against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) was drawn outside homes of late M Karunanidhi, DMK Chief MK Stalin and DMK MP Kanimozhi. DMK chief MK Stalin had condemned the detention of the protesters who drew rangoli and showcased their objection against CAA and NRC in a unique manner. In a Facebook post, Stalin targeted the AIADMK government and said that it is taking away people’s constitutional right to dissent. Meanwhile, Kolam protest has started gaining momentum and several netizens are sharing their rangoli to show their dissent against the CAA and NRC.
Last week, DMK chief MK Stalin and other leaders were booked for holding a protest without permission in Tamil Nadu. Thousands of people took part in that rally called by DMK and its allies against the amended Citizenship Law.
The protest against the contentious CAA is growing by each passing day. Mass demonstrations are taking place in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Delhi. The law seek to grant Indian nationality to six religious communities, except Muslims, from three Islamic countries.
