New Delhi, May 2: With the biggest festival of democracy - Lok Sabha Elections 2019 - in place and the auspicious month of Ramadan set to begin from May 6, the Supreme Court has asked Election Commission to adjust poll timing accordingly. The apex court asked the EC to rethink on pleas for re-scheduling the voting time from 7 am to 5 am during Ramadan.

According to the latest update, the Supreme Court has asked the apex poll conducting body to decide on the pleas for re-scheduling the voting time from 7 am to 5 am in the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections during the month of Ramzan coinciding with the rest of the phases. It is to be known that the fifth phase of Lok Sabha Elections will take place on May 6. Till now, out of 543 Lok Sabha seats, polling for 374 constituencies have already been done and the rest would be voted in the rest three phases. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
