A speeding truck rammed into a marriage procession in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district on Monday night, which killed 13 people of a family and injured 18 others.
Jaipur, February 19: In a shocking incident, a speeding truck rammed into a marriage procession in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district on Monday night, which killed 13 people of a family and injured 18 others, said police. In a sudden accident, four children succumbed to injuries.
Briefing about the incident, police said that the truck hit the marriage procession near Ramdev temple on State Highway-113 Monday night as it was on the kit way to Nimbahera from Banswara. Expressing his condolences, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to Twitter and wrote, “My heartfelt condolences to the grieved families. I pray for speedy recovery of injured people (sic)”

Adding on, the administration claimed that the injured were rushed to a government hospital in Choti Sadri and later on 15 of them, who were critically hurt, were referred to facilities in Udaipur. Among the diseased identified include Daulatram (60), Bharat (30), Shubham (5), Chotu (5), Dilip (11), Arjun (15), Ishu (19), Ramesh (30) and Karan (28). The police also added that the truck driver apparently could not see the procession and after the incident, an investigation has been ordered.
