Mumbai, August 26: A doctor and others reportedly gang-raped a 30-year-old woman at an IVF centre in Rajasthan's Jaipur. The incident came to light on Thursday when the woman alleged being raped by a doctor and unidentified persons at an IVF centre in the city. In her complaint, the woman claimed she was gang-raped at the Jaipur IVF centre.

The FIR lodged at Jawahar Nagar police station also stated that the woman visited the IVF centre for "egg donation". According to a report in the Times of India, the incident occurred when the victim visited the IVF centre for "egg donation". A police officer said the woman visited the IVF clinic with her husband and child. The woman also alleged that at the clinic, she was taken to an operation room for the IVF procedure. The procedure included the administration of injections, which reportedly left her unconscious. Acting on the woman's complaint, the police lodged a complaint under Section 376 (D) (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Gyan Chandra Yadav, DCP (East), also said they received a zero FIR from Ajmer. "She has named three persons, including a doctor, but the identities of the suspects have to be corroborated because she is yet to come to the city for the investigation," he added. Speaking further, Yadav said that the place where the IVF centre will be verified after speaking to the woman. In a separate incident in Delhi, a doctor reportedly provided some eggs from a patient undergoing IVF treatment to two women without her consent. After the incident came to light, the doctor was let off by the National Medical Commission with a warning.
