Alwar, May 7: In a shocking incident, a Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped in front of her her husband in Rajasthan's Alwar district, said police officials on Tuesday. The mob, who also thrashed the victim's husband, filmed the crime and uploaded the clip on social media. According to an FIR registered in Gaji police station on April 30, the episode took place on April 29 in the afternoon at 3 pm when the victim was going to a nearby village with her husband on a motorcycle. The accused, on two bikes, stopped them on the Thanagazi-Alwar bypass and dragged the couple to an isolated area, where they allegedly raped the woman and thrashed her husband.

"The woman's vehicle was stopped by a group of five men travelling on two motorcycles. "After this, the two men who were beating the woman's husband also raped her. They also made a video recording of the incident and threatened the victims they would kill them if they complain to the police," the complaint added.

The accused threatened them of dire consequences if they report it to police. The complainant said that when the accused were talking to each other, the victim heard three names Sachin, Jitu and Ashok. While, the names of two other accused are not known to the woman.

At a press conference on April 30, DGP Kapil Garg said that one of the accused has been arrested while 14 teams have been set up to nab the others. Meanwhile, a case has been registered under relevant sections of Indian Penal code (IPC) and Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act and a probe has also been initiated.
