Rajasthan, January 17: The state government announced financial assistance of Rs. 20 lakhs to the wife of the deceased election duty officer Ratan Lal, who died today due to heart attack. Lal was on duty at the Lakshmi Kheda polling station in Bijolia. More details on this piece of news are awaited.

Earlier last year, a junior assistant, posted on election duty at Sukkamanayakkanpatti town in Palani died of a heart attack while on duty at the polling station. The incident took place when Senthilvel was reportedly executing his election duties on Wednesday. After complaining of chest pain, he fell unconscious at the polling station and died before the ambulance could reach the place.
