Jaipur, January 2: Several vehicles collided in Rajasthan's Alwar region due to dense fog and low visibility on Thursday. According to a tweet by ANI, the accident took place on the National Highway 8 in Dooghera in Alwar today. Reports inform that the deadly collision took place due to the persistent foggy weather conditions on National Highway. Several cars were severely damaged following the collision and around a dozen people were injured. The injured ones have been shifted to a hospital.
Cold wave conditions continued in most parts of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana on Thursday despite a marginal rise in mercury. The weather agency has predicted that mild rains are likely in parts of North India in the coming days. In Rajasthan, districts that have been affected by severe cold waves include Alwar, Dausa, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Ajmer, Jaipur, Churu, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner and Jaisalmer. The Met Department has predicted light to moderate rain at a few places in Punjab and Haryana by Friday, which could further bring some relief from the cold and dry weather conditions.
