Jaipur, May 29: After a spate of rape cases within a month shook Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday convened a high-level meeting with officials. In the meeting, it was decided that an FIR can be lodged at SP's office, if a police station refuses to register an FIR in connection with any case.┬аThe CM also directed that a departmental inquiry be done in connection with all the cases where a police station refuses to register FIR. In a few months, a number of rapes cases were reported from the state.
Last month, a woman was allegedly gang-raped in front of her her husband in Rajasthan's Alwar district. The accused not only thrashed the victim's husband but also filmed the crime and uploaded the clip on social media. The FIR in connection with the case was registered a day after the incident took place.┬аAlwar Gang-Rape Survivor Appointed as Constable in Rajasthan Police.
