Rajasthan: Assistant Bank Manager Robs Rs 1.90 Lakh From Branch He Was Posted to Pay of Debts

Rajasthan police have arrested assistant bank manager of Syndicate Bank for stealing Rs 1,90,000 lakh from Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in the branch he was posted.

Alwar, October 5: In a bizarre incident, the Rajasthan police have arrested assistant bank manager of Syndicate Bank for stealing Rs 1,90,000 lakh from Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in the branch where he was posted. Reports inform that the incident took place on October 2 when accused Manoj Kumar reached Taj Mandi Branch of Syndicate and without anyone's notice stole away Rs 1,90,000 with the help of ATM keys, reported Mirror Now.

The theft was reported the next day on October 3 and the investigation into the matter was initiated immediately. During the initial probe, police found that the machine was not tempered which led to suspicion that crime was committed by an insider. Police also noticed that the money was robbed of two ATM machines. Suspended Policeman Arrested for Thefts at 11 ATMs in J&K.

Further investigations reveal that Manoj Kumar, who was working at Tej Mandi branch of the Syndicate bank till the day he robbed the bank, he was transferred to Bhiwadi branch. Following the interrogation, he confessed to the crime and said officials that he committed the crime because was under the pile of debt after incurring the losses in the Stock market. Kumar is under the house arrest and police have successfully recovered the stolen amount from him.
