Jaipur, November 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party in Rajasthan has promised a monthly unemployment dole of Rs 5,000 and 30,000 government jobs in five years, according to the party manifesto released on Tuesday for the ensuing Assembly elections due on December 7.
The manifesto was unveiled by Union ministers Arun Jaitley, Prakash Javadekar and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje at BJP's media centre in the state capital.
Raje said the manifesto is titled 'Rajasthan Gaurav Sankalp 2018' as her government has "fulfilled 95 per cent" of promises made in the 2013 manifesto. Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2018: BJP Manifesto Promises 50 Lakh Jobs in Five Years.
The manifesto promises 30,000 government jobs, with Raje emphasizing 50 lakh additional jobs in the private sector in next five years. Besides an allowance of Rs 5,000 per month to the eligible unemployed youths over 21 years of age, the manifesto also promises a transparent process to strengthen the minimum support price to double farmers' income, Raje said.
The manifesto also mentions a rural start-up fund of Rs 250 crore, adding that cooperative agriculture loans worth Rs 1 lakh crore will be given in the next five years. This initiative, Raje said, will help in extending the benefits of cooperative agriculture loans to new members.
"The manifesto promises a Yog Bhavan in each district. It also promises to set up Parashuram Board and Rajasthan Vedic Studies Board in the state," Raje said.
"All districts will be linked to the four-lane highway in the state. The youths will be trained for jobs in the Army in each sub-division three months before Army recruitment camps are held," Raje added.
The Chief Minister said 'happiness index' will be set as a parameter for implementing these policies.
Sharing credit for releasing the manifesto ahead of its rival, the Congress, she said: "The BJP has been a leader; it was first in announcing names of candidates and now it is first again in declaring the manifesto."
Jaitley said the BJP was also first in announcing the CM candidate, adding
that the "biggest factor to influence the Rajasthan assembly elections is the rural outreach programme that has taken place during the BJP tenure in the state."
