Rajasthan: 17-Year-Old Student Stabbed To Death in Kota Over Brawl In Cricket
A 17-year-old boy from Uttar Pradesh’s Mau was stabbed to death over a brawl in a game of cricket in Kota on Saturday. The 20-year-old accused Rahul Bhatti was arrested by the police and booked for murder.
Kota, August 19: A 17-year-old boy from Uttar Pradesh’s Mau was killed over a brawl in a game of cricket in Kota on Saturday. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, Atul Singh was stabbed to death by a drunk local resident after a dispute during the game. The 20-year-old accused Rahul Bhatti was arrested by the police and booked for murder.
According to the report, Singh was playing cricket with his fellow coaching students and friends in the Onkareshwar public park of Mahaveer Nagar III area, where Bhati joined them. However, Bhatti allegedly stabbed Singh after an argument broke as he insisted on batting even after getting out. The accused fled from the spot after the incident.
The victim was taken to the New Government College Hospital where he died during treatment on Saturday night. Singh’s father was a doctor in Mau, and he is the youngest of three siblings. Singh came to Kota three years ago to prepare for the medical entrance examination and stayed in a paying guest facility in Mahaveer Nagar III.
According to the report, Singh got All India Rank of 20000 in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in 2017 but did not take admission and returned to his house in Mau. He returned to in July this year and was taking coaching to improve his rank in NEET next year.
