Jaipur, August 24: At least 14 kanwariyas were injured in Rajasthan after some miscreants pelted stones at them on Thursday. The incident happened in Rajasthan's Tonk district in Malpura area, resulting in clashes between locals and kanwariyas. An SUV was also torched, Station House Officer at Malpura Navnit said.

According to reports, the kanwariyas were passing through a Muslim-dominated area in Malpura when some miscreants hurled stones on them, Additional Superintendent of Police Goverdhan Sekaria said.

The situation in the town is tense following the clashes. Section 144, which prohibits gathering of crowds, has been imposed in the area. Additional security has also been deployed in the area.
