Maharashtra Police on Wednesday issued a notice to MNS workers in Pune under section 149 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), warning them that actions would be taken if they are found disturbing law and order.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had earlier called a bandh for August 22, but it later withdrew its call for bandh after Thackeray said not to cause any inconvenience to the public. Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had warned that state government will take action against people if they take the law into their hands.
