Rains, Hailstorm Lash Delhi and Parts of Haryana; AQI Improves, Winter Chill Likely to Grip Region

New Delhi, November 27: Rains combined with hailstorm lashed Delhi-NCR and parts of Haryana on Wednesday afternoon, in accordance with the alert issued by weather agencies. Following the showers, the air quality index (AQI) visibly improved. For some Delhi residents, the rain brought to memories the woes of Monsoon as the roads were covered with sleet and brief traffic snarls being witnessed, The overall impact of the rains was positive on the city residents as the showers are expected to improve the weather quality for the next couple of days.

Delhi has been reeling under choking air since the past month, as stubble burning increased in neighbouring Punjab and Haryana to clear the lands for Rabi season. The situation deteriorated to an extent where the Supreme Court had on Monday compared the city with "hell".
