Rahul Gandhi Urges Students, Youth to Join Congress Anti-CAA Protest at Raj Ghat Today

Amid nationwide protest against the citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday appeals to agitating students to join him at Raj Ghat, Delhi, on Monday afternoon. The Congress party is holding a five hours 'satyagraha' demanding protection for the Constitution of India and the rights of people as enshrined in it.

Delhi, December 23: Amid nationwide protest against the citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday appealed to students and youth  to join him at Raj Ghat, Delhi, on Monday afternoon. The Congress party is holding a five hours 'satyagraha' demanding protection for the Constitution of India and the rights of people as enshrined in it. "Dear Students & Youth of India (flag emoji), It’s not good enough just to feel Indian. At times like these, it’s critical to show that you’re Indian & won’t allow India to be destroyed by hatred. Top Congress leaders including party chief Sonia Gandhi, general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are likely to participate in the event. The decision to hold silent protest was taken at a meeting at Sonia Gandhi's residence on Saturday evening.

"Senior Congress leaders will undertake a satyagraha at Mahatma Gandhi's Samadhi at Rajghat on December 23 from 3 pm to 8 pm. In line with the path of non-violence, yet consistent and unequivocal opposition shown by the Father of the Nation, the party's satyagraha will fight against this dictatorial government and to protect Baba Saheb's (B R Ambedkar) sacred Constitution," Congress general secretary K C Venugopal had said.
