Kochi, August 28: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday made way for an air ambulance and let it fly first ahead of his chopper after a lady took ill following a heart stroke in Kerala. Reports inform that a lady fell ill and suffered a heart attack in the relief camp, where the Congress President had visited earlier today. Days after floods ravaged Kerala, Gandhi today arrived in Thiruvananthapuram to visit flood relief camps in Chengannur, Alappuzha and Angamaly. The Congress President heard the woes of the people and expressed solidarity with the people of the state.

Gandhi, who is on a two-day visit to the state, arrived in the state capital this morning from his Europe tour. He then took a helicopter to Chengannur in Alappuzha district to meet people there. "I will be in Kerala tomorrow & the day after, visiting flood-hit areas & relief camps in the state. I will also meet with fishermen, volunteers & others who have been working tirelessly & selflessly to help those in need", Gandhi had tweeted on Monday.

According to a report by PTI, the Congress chief first visited the relief camp at the Christian College and spoke to people at the centre and also visited a camp at an engineering college. Gandhi also interacted with a group of flood victims at the relief camp on the rooftop of a house at Edanadu near Aranmula.

During his visit to the flood-hit state on Tuesday, Gandhi was accompanied by Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala, Congress Working Committee members Oommen Chandy, K.C. Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president M.M. Hassan.
