New Delhi, October 10: In the latest development in the Rafale controversy, the Supreme Court today has sought a report from the central government with respect to the decision making process during the deal.  The court has asked for the sealed cover report, but it also said that it will not look into pricing and technical aspects of the deal. The top court, however, has not issued any notice to the government regarding this. A bench of CJI Ranjan Gogoi and Justices SK Kaul and KM. One of the petitions was filed by lawyer Vineet Dhanda asked for the disclosure of the various aspects of the deal. Dhanda specifically sought a direction to the Narendra Modi government to reveal details of ricing of the aircraft in comparison to the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. The petition also sought information about the offset contract given to Anil Ambani-led Reliance Defence Limited. However, the government demanded to quashed all the petitions filed against the deal, saying the questions filed in the petitions were already asked in the parliament and alleged that the petitions were filed with political interests. Since the day, the Modi government signed the deal in September 2016 with the French government to procure 36 Rafale jets, the opposition parties are alleging corruption in the deal.
