Kolkata, November 1: Nearly 100 passengers onboard a Qatar Airways Doha- Kolkata flight had a narrow escape at Kolkata airport after the aircraft hit a water tanker on Wednesday. According to a tweet by ANI, the incident took place at 1.52 AM last night while the flight was arriving at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. Reports inform that nearly 100 passengers were safely evacuated after the incident.
According to ANI, the aircraft's belly was damaged. As per details by airport officials, the aircraft was taken away for repairs immediately after the incident. Reports inform that the flight was Qatar Airways QR 541 which usually departs from Kolkata Airport at around 3 AM.

In a separate incident, a SpiceJet Ahmedabad - Chennai flight was diverted to Mumbai after the flight suffered a technical issue on Wednesday. The Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) informed confirmed the incident and said all passengers were safe.
