Punjab Shocker: Woman Dragged Out of Car, Gangraped by 10 Men Near Issewal Village in Ludhiana
According to a report by PTI, the 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped after the car she was travelling in with her friend, was stopped in Jagraon area.
Ludhiana, February 12: In a horrific incident, a woman in Punjab was brutally dragged from inside a car and was allegedly raped by 10 men on Saturday. Reports inform the tragic incident took place near Issewal village on the banks of Sidwan canal, about 15 km from Ludhiana. According to a report by PTI, the 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped after the car she was travelling in with her friend, was stopped in Jagraon area. According to details by Police, the woman was travelling with a man from Ludhiana to Issewal village on Saturday night. A case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered, Police informed. Meanwhile, the investigation has begun and efforts to nab the accused. Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Tarun Rattan informed that the car was stopped in Jagraon by men on three bikes, who were following them for a long time.
As soon as they stopped, the car was attacked by the men with stones and bricks. The men then dragged them out of the car and took them to a vacant spot on the banks of the canal. Reaching the spot, the assailants called six to seven more persons and raped the woman.
Police informed that both, the woman and her friend were held there till Sunday. The report further informs that medical test of the survivor at the Civil Hospital has confirmed the gang rape.
