Amritsar, January 10: In a major breakthrough, Punjab police on Friday apprehended three Pakistani handlers near Indo-Pak border in Tarn Taran district. The police also recovered two drones. One of the drones was recovered near the border in Tarn Taran, while another drone was located in Haryana’s Karnal district. Drone Sighting in Punjab: Another Suspected Pakistani Drone Enters Indian Airspace in The Northern State, Returns Unharmed.

According to a report published in India Today, three men arrested by the police were handling drones which were sent by Pakistan across the border carrying weapons. The cops also reportedly recovered two walkie-talkies and Rs six lakh cash. Meanwhil,e reports also surfaced that around 300 terrorists were trying to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the Republic Day. Entire Kashmir Valley has been put on high alert.

Last year also, several incidents of Pakistani drone entering the Indian Territory were reported. Indian intelligence agencies had informed the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that Pakistan “state actors” were behind the weapons drop by drones across Punjab in September last year. The ministry had also asked the Border Security Force (BSF) to adopt the anti-drone mechanism aimed at preventing weapon smuggling across the western border.
