Punjab: Man Killed Over Alleged ‘Affair’ With Friend’s Widow in Amritsar Village, Case Registered
According to a report, four people, including two women have been booked for allegedly killing the man over suspected illicit relations.
Ludhiana, November 15: A man in a village in Punjab was brutally hacked to death over an alleged affair with friend’s widow. Reports inform that the 30-year old man was murdered at Brar village in Chogawan block of Amritsar district. According to a report by Hindustan Times, four people, including two women have been booked for allegedly killing the man over suspected illicit relations. The report further informs that the deceased has been identified as Dharambir Singh.
The incident came to light after Dharambir’s mother alerted the Police about the incident following which, a case was registered at the Lopoke police station. Describing her ordeal, the victim's mother informed that Sahib’s wife Kawaljit used to come to their house. It was on Tuesday night that her son told her that he was going to Kawaljit’s house to meet her. The victim's mother, after some time, said that her nephew Gursewak Singh informed Dharambir was attacked with sharp-edged weapons. Dharambir was rushed to the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The people who have killed him are his friend Sahib Singh’s widow Kawaljit Kaur (34), her husband’s nephew Harbhej Singh (25), her brother-in-law Jagir Singh (30) and his wife Rani (20). The accused are all residents of the same village. Police informed that a case under Sections 302 (punishment for murder), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapons) of the Indian penal code (IPC) was registered.
