Chandigarh, February 26: Punjab has been put on a high alert following the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) surgical strikes on terror camps of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Balakote, Muzaffarabad and Chakothi on Tuesday. State Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will be touring the border areas tomorrow. He said, “I told the Union Home Minister that if there is anything that Punjab can do we are there to for the defence of our country.” Earlier in the day, Captain Singh also held a high-level meeting with state minister Manpreet Badal and senior officials after the air strikes issued a "high alert" across the state. Mirage-2000: All About The Fighter Aircraft Used by IAF to Destroy JeM Camps Across LoC on February 26.

Meanwhile, Gujarat police also issued a "high alert" across the state. Gujarat's Director General of Police Shivanand Jha cancelled a conference on crime-related issues scheduled at the Police Bhavan in Gandhinagar and asked all officers who reached here to attend it to return to their respective headquarters in view of the alert sounded in the state. Ambala air base and Mumbai naval base are also put on a high alert.

IAF conducts airstrikes on JeM terror camps:

In a swift and precise airstrike following the Pulwama attack, India bombed and destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammed's biggest training camp in Pakistan early Tuesday killing over 200 terrorists. The operation, described as a non-military, preemptive strike, was welcomed by the entire political spectrum and military experts. The air strikes were conducted two after the Pulwama attack carried out by the JeM. Forty Central Reserve Police Force personnel were martyred in the attack.
