Ludhiana, December 3: In a tragic incident, a massive fire broke out in a pharmaceutical factory at Upkar Nagar in Punjab's Ludhiana district on Thursday evening. According to a tweet by ANI, Fire tenders were pressed to the spot to put out the fire. No casualties have been reported so far, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. On December 31, a major fire erupted in a snacks factory in Chaknooran area in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district. In the deadly incident, three workers lost their lives while eight others were injured. On the same day, a major fire broke out in a cloth factory in Thane district's Bhiwandi area.
According to a report, In 2018, a total of 48 deaths were reported due to fire incidents in Maharashtra's Capital. The number of casualties is almost double than what was registered in 2017. In 2017, 25 people had lost their lives after being caught in the blaze.
