Pune, December 30: In a tragic incident, three labourers electrocuted to death on Monday in phase-III of the Rajiv Gandhi IT Park in Hinjewadi area of Pune. The incident took place at 6.30 am. The deceased have been identified as Sagar Ayappa Mashalkar, Sagar Kapu Parandekar, Raju Kupu Parandekar. All the three were residents of Bijlinagar in Chinchwad. Mashalkar and Parandekar were 20 and 19 years of age respectively, while Raju was 35 years old. Mumbai: 3 Dead, 1 Critical Due to Suffocation While Cleaning Sewage Plant in Mira Road.

According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the tragic incident took place when the labourers were changing street lights in Ganesh Colony, and  electricity supply was accidentally switched on. The labourers got electrocuted as they come in contact with the high-voltage electric wire. They worked for a private electrical contractor. “The trio was caught unaware and died due to the massive shock. The MSEDCL authorities had to disconnect electricity supply in order to remove the trio who were stuck in the wires,” reported the English daily, quoting Ajay Joghad, police inspector of Hinjewadi police station as saying. The police registered a case of accidental death.
