Pune, August 23: In a disturbing incident in Pune, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old boy after being forced to drink alcohol at a house party. The incident occurred on April 15, but the victim’s father lodged a complaint only recently, leading to the detention of two minors.

According to a report in India Today, the victim and the accused were known to each other. The accused, along with his friends, lured the girl to a friend’s house for a party where she was made to consume alcohol. It was then that the 17-year-old boy allegedly raped her. The victim’s father reported that the assault was recorded on a mobile phone. ‘I Will Do to You Same As What Happened to the Girl in Kolkata’: Auto Driver Threatens Female Students in Nagpur, Thrashed by Locals; Video Surfaces.

Further investigations revealed that the girl had been raped on separate occasions by two minor friends, aged 16 and 17. The police have detained the two minors accused of rape and have also booked two more friends of the victim, including a girl, for allegedly forcing the victim to consume alcohol and filming the assault. Pune Shocker: Class 10 Student Molests Minor Girl in Toilet of Private School on Independence Day, Arrested.

An FIR was registered on Tuesday at a Pune police station by the victim’s father. The detained minors were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and are currently lodged in an observation home. The police have registered a case under BNS provisions for rape, kidnapping, causing harm with poison or other substances with intent to commit a crime, and criminal intimidation, along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The incident has sparked outrage, especially in the wake of recent protests in Maharashtra’s Badlapur over the sexual abuse of two kindergarten girls.
