Adding horror to already dreadful Pune rains, a tree fell on a van carrying school children in the Anand Park area of Vadgaonsheri on the morning of July 25. Despite the vehicle sustaining damage, all children on board escaped unscathed. A video surfaced on social media showing students escaping the van to save themselves as the tree collapsed on a vehicle. The tree also fell on a biker, who collapsed on the road after the impact. Several residential areas in Pune's Pimpri-Chinchwad have been flooded, while four people died in rain-related incidents in the district. Pune's District Magistrate (DM) Suhas Divsae also called in army personnel to help the local administration to speed up the relief operations.
