Pune, June 10: A jawan of the Indian Army was viciously thrashed by his fellow colleagues for refusing to share drinks, as per his complaint. A case has been registered by the Sangvi police, under whose jurisdiction the crime was committed. The probing officials will seek the custody of accused following the Army's internal inquiry.
The incident took place at the Aundh Military Station in Pune on June 3. The victim in his complaint alleged that he was passing through the barrack when the accused stopped him and asked him to drink with them. His refusal irked them, who pulled the jawan and forced him to consume some amount of alcohol. On asking him to drink more, the victim refused and attempted to move away from them. However, the accused pulled out sticks and rods to thrash him. He was beaten up till he fell unconscious.

The FIR filed by the police has invoked various IPC sections against the accused including those related to murder and rioting. The identities of the victim, as well as the accused, was not published in reports.
