Shivaji Nagar, October 5: A hoarding near the Shivaji Nagar railway station in Pune collapsed on Friday, killing three people and leaving around nine to ten people injured. The fatal incident also damaged several moving vehicles on the road. Fire and Railway officials reached the incident spot. Measures were undertaken to remove the banner debris and the injured have been admitted to the nearby hospitals. Pune Appealing but Infra Needs Focus: Experts.

Shivaji Nagar, which is situated in inner suburbs of Pune, is among the most populated areas of the city. According to reports, while three people have lost their lives, some of the survivors are seriously injured. Pune: Mutha Canal Wall Collapses, Flooding in Low-Lying Areas.

Railway has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the people who died & Rs 1 lakh for those seriously injured and Rs 50,000 for those injured after hoarding beside railway station of Pune's Shivaji Nagar collapsed on vehicles moving on the road.

Earlier last month, the Mutha Canal wall which passes through the Pune city had collapsed near the Dandekar bridge, Janta Vasahat. The incident had brought entire traffic to halt. Flooding was also witnessed in the low-lying areas of Parvati hill.
