Pune, October 17: Four Army personnel posted at Pune's Khadli Military hospital have been booked for allegedly molesting and raping a speech-impaired woman in the hospital premises for more than four years, reported news agency ANI. According to media reports, the 30-year-old deaf and mute victim had been working at the Military hospital. "She can't speak, so accused took advantage of her condition and committed sexual assault. She told her colleague and he also committed sexual assault. Two other men did the same thing," said Pune ACP Kalyanrao Vidhate while talking on the case. The other details about the case mention that the victim was first raped by one of the Army Jawan and that the other personnel and supervisor at the hospital raped her after she lodged her complaint. The victim had reached out to an NGO based out of Indore in July. Reports said that the NGO took the help of a sign-language interpreter to understand the charges and later a complaint was lodged with the police. In the FIR, the victim has claimed that she was raped when she was working on night shift. She has also accused that the supervisor at the hospital, whom she complained to about the incident, instead of helping her, started blackmailing the victim. The FIR also said that the victim was raped for more than four years at the hospital. The victim is a single mother and has a 12-year-old son.
