New Delhi, February 15: With the entire country standing tall with the families of the 40 CRPF martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the nation, various state governments and institutions have come in support to help the families of the bravehearts on Friday. While the majority announced financial help to the kin, there were others like IPS association who announced to pay their one-day salary to the martyr’s kin. Even Shri Shiddhivinayak Trust announced Rs 50 lakh for the kin of martyrs.

Among the major announcement of the day was from Madhya Pradesh, where Chief Minister Kamal Nath stated declared that his government would give Rs one Crore to the family of Ashwini Kumar Kachhi, a soldier from the state who was killed in the attack. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh each to the families of the 12 jawans from the state. He also announced that one member from each deceased soldier’s family would be granted a government job. Even Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat announced compensation of Rs 25 lakh each to families of the deceased jawans from the state and government jobs to one member from each family.

Among other states that announced the compensation include – Maharashtra (Rs 50 lakh each to the kin of CRPF jawans), Tamil Nadu (Rs 20 lakh each to the families of two jawans), Jharkhand (Rs 10 lakh to the family of deceased CRPF jawan Vijay Soreng), Punjab (Rs 12 Lakh each and a government job next of the kin of the four Pulwama martyred CRPF soldiers), Odisha (Rs 10 Lakh each) and Tripura (Rs 2 Lakh each).

Earlier, the mortal remains of 40 martyred bravehearts of CRPF personnel arrived at the Palam airport in the national capital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and other Union Minister paid their tributes during the wreath-laying ceremony. Among other prominent leaders and prominent dignitaries who paid last respect to the martyrs include Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the three defence chiefs – Army, Navy and Air Force.

At least 40 soldiers have been martyred and over a dozen seriously injured after a truck laden with explosives rammed into a CRPF vehicle part of the security forces convoy on Thursday in Kashmir's Pulwama district, Awantipora area.
