Pulwama Encounter: Brigadier, Lieutenant Colonel and Captain Injured in Gun-Battle With Terrorists in Pinglan

Pulwama, February 18: In the ongoing encounter in Pinglan area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Indian Army's Brigadier along with a Lieutenant colonel and a Captain were injured. Earlier today, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police South Kashmir range, Amit Kumar also sustained injuries in the encounter. The Indian Army today gunned down two terrorists affiliated to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in the encounter. The terrorists were identified as Jaish commanders Abdul Rasheed Ghazi and Hilal Ahmed. Who is Abdul Rasheed Ghazi, an IED Expert And Mastermind of Pulwama Attack?

According to reports, Ghazi was sent to Kashmir in December last year to avenge the killings of JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar's nephews - Talha Rasheed and Usman Haider. Meanwhile, four army personnel, including Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal of 55 Rashtriya Rifles were martyred in the encounter. The encounter took place four days after 40 Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) jawans were martyred in an IED blast. JeM claimed the responsibility for the attack. It was the deadliest attack on the security forces in the Kashmir Valley after the Uri attack of 2016.
