New Delhi, September 28: The Delhi Police's Crime Branch on Friday arrested a man identified as Pulkit Maharaj who claimed to be the spiritual guru of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An FIR was registered against Pulkit on the complaint of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in August with the Delhi Police. An assistant director at the PMO had complained about the fraud. Pulkit had sought VIP treatment as he claimed himself being close to the Prime Minister.
According to reports, earlier, a man, claiming to be the Secretary of the Ministry of Arts and Culture, had written to the District Magistrate of Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur, asking him to make arrangements for Pulkit's stay and security. The self-proclaimed spiritual guru had also forged photographs of himself with the Prime Minister and other high-profile officials.
Pulkit also used to get VIP protocol services by claiming that he had got an award from the President. The self-proclaimed spiritual guru also claimed that he had helped the PM many times. He used to send fake emails to respective state governments to get VIP treatment.
