Bhavnagar, March 11: PUBG aka PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which has gained more than 100 million downloads on Google Play Store, is the talk of the town in Gujarat and not for good reason. Earlier last week, there were reports that PUBG is banned in Surat and Rajkot, now Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath districts have issued a notification to ban the gaming title, reported The Times of India. According to the notification, PUBG incites violence and if people are caught playing the game then they will be prosecuted under section 188(Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code. However, education and research institutes, Cops are exempted from the ban, reported The Times of India. A notification was also issued against suicide game "Momo Challenge", which forces users to indulge in harmful activities. Despite the popularity, the game has faced criticism from the state administrations as well as parents for having addictive and obsessive effects. According to psychologists, the game incites violence among the youth. Earlier at Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0 session, a concerned parent even complained to PM Narendra Modi about her child's addiction to the game.
