Vasai, August 30: In a yet another PUBG related death, a 21-year-old died after he slipped into a pond in Vasai area of Maharashtra's Palghar district on Tuesday night. The youth was deeply engrossed in a PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds game. The incident came to light when his mother filed a missing complaint with Waliv police station. According to cops, Akash was playing PUBG Mobile sitting by the pond near his residence at Dhaniv Vasai Fata. When his mother called him, Akash told her that he will come back after finishing the game, reported mid-day. However, he did not return home till the next morning. Stressed over this, she contacted his friends. On Wednesday, police found Akash's body floating in the pond. His body has been sent for postmortem. A case of accidental death report has been registered. A probe is underway. "On the day of the incident, he was so engrossed in the battle royale game while sitting on the edge of the pond, that he didn't realise when he slipped in," a police official told mid-day.

In a similar incident from March, two people engrossed playing PUBG were run over by the train in Maharashtra's Hingoli district. The incident took place at Khatkali Bypass in Hingoli. "Nagesh Gore (24) and Swapnil Annapurne (22) were playing PUBG near the railway tracks. They were run over by the Hyderabad-Ajmer train," police said.
