Nagpur, June 13: In yet another PUBG-related death in Maharashtra, a 16-year-old boy allegedly died after falling into an open pump chamber of a dam in Nagpur. The deceased, identified as Pulkit Shahdadpuri, died at around 4 pm on Tuesday, June 11, after he fell into the open pump chamber of Ambazari dam. The tragic incident occurred after Pulkit celebrated his birthday with his family.
According to a report in the Times of India, Shahdadpuri celebrated his birthday by cutting cake with his family. After this, he snaked out of his house around 3 am and visited his friend's place. Pulkit's friend told cops that they walked for 15-20 minutes around Jaripatka and then decided to visit Shankar Nagar Square to eat poha. At the Ambazari lake, the two were engrossed in playing pubg. Soon after the duo finished a game, they decided to head back to the stall to eat poha. The deceased boy was still engrossed in pubg while his friend walked ahead of him. During the walk, Shahdadpuri couldn't see the open pump chamber and allegedly fell into it, Golhe said.
Shahdadpuri's friend turned back when he heard a loud splash. When he saw the deep pit, he could not spot Pulkit. Shahdadpuri's friend immediately informed a security guard nearby, who alerted the police. With the help of firefighters, cops retrieved Pulkit's body. During the preliminary investigation, cops learned that the deceased teenager had passed the Class 10 exam recently and was preparing to be admitted to Class 11. Meanwhile, locals have alleged a lack of safety measures at Ambazari Lake and blamed the civic body for Pulkit's death tragic death.
