Chennai, July 28: In a disturbing incident, the Chennai Police arrested six individuals and detained two others for forcing a 14-year-old girl into prostitution. Shockingly, the girl’s own sister was among those arrested. The victim had moved from Chemmencheri to Paduvanchery to live with her sister, but instead of finding safety, she was subjected to exploitation.
According to India Today, the sister and her mother-in-law coerced the young girl into prostitution, taking her to various locations, including KK Nagar and Chengalpattu. Fortunately, a child welfare committee in Chengalpattu alerted the authorities, leading to the girl’s rescue by a special team from the Selaiyur All Women Police.
