President Ram Nath Kovind Addresses Nation On The Eve Of 72nd Independence Day, Says ' Empowerment Of Women Is Very important To Realise Full Independence'
President Ram Nath Kovind in his address to the nation on the eve of 72nd Independence Day has extended his wished to the citizens. In his address, the President called all the freedom fighters as "extraordinary."
New Delhi, August 14: President Ram Nath Kovind in his address to the nation on the eve of 72nd Independence Day has extended his wished to the citizens. In his address, the President called all the freedom fighters as "extraordinary." Talking about freedom, President Kovind said that the Indian definition of freedom or self-rule is very exhaustive. The President also laid stress on the empowerment of women. He said that empowerment of women is very important to realise full Independence. He added that women have a special significance in our society and they should have the freedom to choose their path.
President Kovind also termed ‘August 15’ as a sacred day for every Indian. He said, “Our tricolour is a representation of our nation. Independence of India was a result of the sacrifice of freedom fighters and ancestors.” He also appreciated the path of non-violence followed by Mahatma Gandhi. The President said the principles of Gandhi is still applicable in the 21st century and there is no place of violence in the country. President Kovind in his address hailed farmers of the country for creating produce for crores of Indians. He said, "We are at a pivotal moment. Let contentious issues and extraneous debates not distract us."
The President appreciated the centre’s policies of development. He said, “Gram Swaraj Abhiyan has been extended to 117 Aspirational Districts where, seven decades after Independence, we still have stark gaps in the development narrative He said India always considered the world as one.” He said India always considered the world as one.
The President lauded Indian armed forces for fighting terrorism and securing the border so that the citizens of the country could live peacefully. He also praised the forces for their participation in the United Peacekeeping Forces. He also urged the people to support the government in various development schemes to make a better India.
