Mumbai, August 10: In a tragic incident, a small-time actress and her daughter were found dead in their house in Kalwa on Friday allegedly due to financial issues. Reports inform that the mother owned up to murdering her 18-year-old daughter and then ending her life in a suicide note that was found in the room by the Police. According to a report by TOI, the woman’s husband found the bodies lying on the floor after returning home from the gym. The report further quotes Police saying that said the note did not clarify the motive but after talking to her husband, neighbours and a few relatives, the family's worsening financial condition could have been the reason behind the extreme step. The incident came into light after Prashant returned from the gym and rang the doorbell but no one opened the door, After trying a lot of times, he called a locksmith and saw his daughter lying dead in the living room. As he entered the house, he found his wife had hanged herself with a dupatta from the fan in their bedroom. He rushed them to Pramila hospital, but they were both declared dead on arrival. According to the TOI report, Prashant Parkar, 43, left for his morning workout at around 7.30 am, his wife Pradnya, 40, who had acted in a few Hindi serials, was alone with their daughter Shruti in their home. The duo lived in a house at Gauri Suman housing society in Kalwa area of Mumbai. The man said that in the note, his wife had written that she strangled her daughter with her bare hands and hung herself.

The woman, who had started acting a few months ago, also did a small role in an upcoming Bollywood movie, Section 375. Meanwhile, her husband Prashant runs an export-import business. After a probe was initiated into the matter, Police informed that the Parkar family was facing a lot of stress due to financial issues as the husband’s business was not providing any income was less.

The Kalwa police said Prashant called them after going to the hospital. The bodies were taken to the civic-run Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital for post-mortem. The suicide has been sent to the forensic laboratory in Kalina to check whether the handwriting belongs to Pradnya.
