New Delhi, November 9: The pollution level in Delhi is in severe category for the last four days, leading to low visibility. K Srivastava, IMD-Delhi was quoted by ANI saying that pollution level in severe category and the visibility has reduced during morning hours. The official added that the visibility has reduced in the national capital due to fog along with smoke and pollutants.  Srivastava added that the situation is expected to remain the same for next two days. "Situation is expected to remain the same for next 2 days, & likely to improve on Nov 12-13 due to easterly winds". Srivastava said.

The air quality in the national capital remained in 'severe' for the fifth consecutive day on Monday, with calm wind speed exacerbating the effect of stubble burning. VK Soni, the head of the India Meteorological Department's environment research centre, said a major improvement in Delhi-NCR's air quality was highly unlikely in the coming days. The official added that the air quality is likely to be recorded in the upper end of the 'very poor' category on Diwali if there is a limit on firecrackers emissions. "If people burst crackers, pollution levels can increase to 'severe' to 'severe plus' category (emergency),” he added. Delhi Air Quality: Why Does Air Pollution Rises And Air Quality Start Dipping in National Capital During Winters?
