Patna, September 16: Poll strategist Prashant Kishor joined the Janata Dal United (JDU) on Sunday in Patna in the presence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Kishor joined the party ahead of its state executive meeting. The poll strategist carved out the prime ministerial campaign of Narendra Modi ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha elections and the chief ministerial campaign of Nitish Kumar in 2015 Bihar assembly polls.

Before joining the party, Kishor dropped a hint about his move through his twitter post. He tweeted, “Excited to start my new journey from Bihar! (sic)."

Kishor is a former public health expert. He was associated with the programmes run by the United Nations. He left a mark in Indian politics when he designed the highly popular 'Acche Din' campaign for Narendra Modi, Kishor also played a key role in projecting Nitish as the most preferred chief ministerial face in Bihar in 2015. However, in 2017, the Congress projected its worst-ever result in Uttar Pradesh despite Kishor leading the party's campaign; meanwhile, he also strategised the Congress poll strategy for Punjab Assembly elections of 2017, which the party won.

Kishor's organisation, India - Political Action Committee (IPAC) - recently conducted a survey to gauge who is the most preferred leader, whom the nation wants to elect as the Prime Minister in 2019. Notably, 48 per cent of the online voters rallied behind Modi, followed by 11.2 per cent for Congress chief Rahul Gandhi. Last week also, Kishor hinted at his political debut while addressing an event at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad.
