New Delhi, July 22: PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of Ram Temple on August 5. According to an ANI update, Swami Govind Dev Giri, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra said, "To ensure social distancing at the programme, we've decided that there will not be more than 200 people including 150 invitees."

Before laying the foundation stone, PM Modi would offer prayers to Lord Ram at the temple and Lord Hanuman at Hanuman Garhi Temple. All chief ministers will be invited to the programme, according to Swami Govind Dev Giri. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is among the invitees for the Ram temple Bhoomi puja ceremony in Ayodhya, former NCP MP Majeed Memon informed on Tuesday but opined that head should refrain from promoting a "particular religious activity. The 'Bhoomi pujan' ceremony is scheduled to be held at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.

Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust decided that the proposed Ram temple would have a height of 161 feet along with five domes,  instead of three. The Supreme Court in November last year had directed the central government to hand over the site at Ayodhya, where Babari Masjid once stood, for the construction of the Ram temple and set up a trust for this.
