New Delhi, November 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, talking during the 50th Mann ki Baat episode on radio today, paid tribute to the makers of the Constitution ahead of the 69th anniversary of the Constitution Day. India adopted its constitution on 26 November, 1948 and the Constitution of India became effective from January 26, 1950. 'Mann Ki Baat' is Entirely Apolitical, Says Narendra Modi.
The Constitution of India, which made India a sovereign, democratic republic, was adopted on November 26, 1949, and it came into effect on January 26, 1950. While January 26 is celebrated as Republic Day, November 26 is remembered as the day when the Constitution of India was adopted and hence celebrated as Constitution Day in India.
