New Delhi, July 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MPs over tea at his residence. The Premier said that he had an excellent interaction with the new Rajya Sabha MPs and said that it was wonderful to hear their views towards public service. Priyanka Chaturvedi, Rajeev Satav, Jyotiraditya Scindia And 42 Other Newly-Elected Rajya Sabha MPs Take Oath of Office.

"Had an excellent interaction with the newly elected BJP Rajya Sabha MPs. It was wonderful to hear their views and passion towards public service. This is a group of MPs who are diverse and will certainly make effective contributions to Parliamentary proceedings," PM Modi tweeted.

In the following tweet, PM Modi urged MPs to keep themselves updated with latest policies. He also "emphasised on being effective on the floor of the House as well as in the field, among people. Reiterated the need for constant people connect and embracing the latest technology as well as social media."

45 of 61 newly-elected Rajya Sabha members took oath on Wednesday, of which 19 are from BJP. The ceremony was held inside Rajya Sabha chambers during inter-sessions. Other MPs who were not present will take oath at a later date.

The BJP MPs who took oath inciude Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sumer Singh Solanki, Nabam Rebia, Bhubaneswar Kalita, Biswajit Daimary, Vivek Thakur, Abhay Bharadwaj, Ramilaben Bara, Narhari Amin, Ram Chander Jangra, Indu Goswami, Deepak Prakash, Ashok Gasti, Iranna Kadadi, Udayanraje Bhosale, Bhagwat Karad, Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba, K Vanlalvena and Rajendra Gehlot.
