New Delhi, July 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the United Kingdom's newly elected PM Boris Johnson on Wednesday after the latter officially took over as head of the nation. Modi was hopeful that under Johnson's tenure, the bilateral relationship between India and Britain would be strengthened in all sectors.

Johnson, who was one of the pioneers of the "exit campaign" ahead of the 2016 Brexit referendum, has promised to deliver on Brexit by October 31.
"UK will leave the European Union on October 31, 'no ifs, ands or buts.' We will get 'a new deal, a better deal' from the EU on Brexit," he said today, promising to wade the nation out of the impasse.
