PM Modi Hits Out at Unemployment Charge, Says 'Not Possible That India Has No Jobs Despite Record Growth'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attacked the Congress over its allegation of prevailing unemployment in the country.
New Delhi, February 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attacked the Congress over its allegation of prevailing unemployment in the country. Speaking at News18 Network’s Rising India 2019 summit, PM Modi questioned how it could be possible that there are no jobs when the country is registering rapid growth. The Prime Minister said, “When jobs were created in West Bengal and Karnataka, how can anyone say no jobs were added in India.”
The Prime Minister also lauded the efforts of its government for working towards the development of farmers. He said that the government is going to put in Rs 6,000 into bank accounts of farmers directly will put in Rs 70,000 crore directly into their accounts. PM Modi also said that his government also streamlined the rollout of welfare schemes by linking Aadhar. He also said that with this move the BJP government had saved Rs 1,10,000 which was earlier going in someone else pocket. Talking about the development in the country, the Prime Minister said that he had made North-East India a growth engine of the new India, which is a very important element of our ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas’. Taking a jibe at the Congress government, he said that his government improved the connectivity of North-East with the rest of India by building roads and bridges, which previous Congress government failed to achieve.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi inaugurated the National War Memorial in New Delhi. While Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, he trained guns at the Congress. He accused the grand old party of ignoring the interests of the defence forces. The total cost of the project is around 176 Crore. Designed in four concentric circles, the memorial will be spread over 40 acres with a 15-metre-high obelisk at its centre. The sculptures of 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees will also there inside the memorial.
