PM Modi Celebrates Birthday With Schoolchildren in Varanasi, Offers Prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Temple
On Tuesday, Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a slew of developmental projects, which will involve government expenditure of Rs 550 crore.
Varanasi, Sept 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi for a two-day visit on Monday, offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. He also met schoolchildren at Narur village, with whom the PM celebrated his 68th birthday.
The students, who met Modi today, are enrolled in a school run by a non-profit organisation. During the interaction, Modi the Prime Minister asserted the importance of sports and advised students to play outdoors.
He also said that learning an array of skills was important for one's development, adding that as students, it is vital to ask questions, as it is a key aspect of learning.

Meanwhile, at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the Prime Minister was greeted by scores of supporters who were vociferously chanting his name. At the temple, he was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
On Tuesday, Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a slew of developmental projects, which will involve government expenditure of Rs 550 crore.
Among the projects which the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate include, the the Integral Power Development Scheme(IPDS) and Atal Incubation Centre at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The foundation stone for a regional ophthalmology centre in BHU will also be laid by Modi.
