Petrol Rates Continue to Rise, Inches Closer to Rs 90-Mark in Mumbai, Diesel Prices Remains Same

Fuel rates continue to soar causing inconvenience to consumers. Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi are at Rs 82.44 per litre and a diesel is being sold at Rs 73.87/litre. Petrol on the other hand in Mumbai inches closer to the 90-mark, it is at Rs 89.69 per litre and diesel is being sold at Rs 78.42 per litre.

Reportedly, the petrol price has shot by Rs 5.02 per litre and diesel by Rs 5.15 - the most in any single month, since the daily revision in fuel prices was introduced in June last year. No More Cashback on Petrol, Diesel Payments Through Card; Oil Companies to Roll Back 0.75% Discount.

As fuel prices inch closer to the psychological Rs 90-mark in Mumbai where petrol and diesel are the costliest, Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari Tuesday admitted that fuel prices are "very high and hurting the public".

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had blamed international factors for the hike in the prices of petroleum products. The falling value of Rupee against Dollar is also cited as one of the reasons for the fuel price hike.
