Mumbai, January 16: After a continuous increase in fuel prices for six consecutive days, there is a slight decrease in petrol prices on Tuesday, whereas price of diesel is increased again. In Delhi, petrol is priced at Rs Rs. 70.33 per litre after a decrease of Rs 0.08. While diesel in the national capital becomes dearer by Rs 0.12 per litre and it is retailed at Rs 64.59/litre. In Mumbai also petrol price is reduced by Rs 0.08 and is retailed at Rs Rs. 75.97/litre after the decrease. However, the price of diesel is hiked by Rs 0.13 after which it is sold at Rs 67.62/litre. Meanwhile, in Kolkata, A litre of petrol cost Rs 72.44, while diesel cost Rs 66.36 a litre. In Chennai, prices of petrol and diesel were Rs 73 and Rs 68.22 a litre, respectively. In Noida, prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 70.23 and Rs 63.94 a litre, respectively. Petrol is retailing at Rs 71.26 in Gurugram and Rs 71.47 a litre in Faridabad, respectively. While, diesel is sold at Rs 64.55 in Gurugram. In Faridabad diesel is priced at Rs 64.77. Fuel prices in India mainly depend on the price of a barrel of crude oil in global market, and Rupee-US dollar exchange rate. The last week of 2018 saw a dip in fuel prices, but the prices have been on rise since January 7.
